PMS

Premenstrual syndrome (PMS): what it is and how to cope

PMS is not “being dramatic” or weak. It is a real response to hormonal changes at the end of the cycle.

Common symptoms may include:

  • irritability and mood swings;
  • headache, lower abdominal discomfort, breast tenderness;
  • fatigue, anxiety, and sleep issues;
  • stronger cravings and appetite changes.

What may help:

  • reminding yourself this is temporary;
  • reducing overload and getting more rest;
  • adding gentle movement (walking, stretching, soft yoga);
  • supporting sleep and regular meals;
  • being kinder to yourself in these days.

If symptoms are severe and affect daily life, talk to a healthcare professional.
